1. December 2022 Visa Bulletin: Retrogression in EB-2 ROW and EB-2 India, Steady Advancement in EB-3 China and EB-3 India, and No Advancement in EB-2 China and Family-based Categories


The U.S. Department of State (DOS) released the Visa Bulletin for December 2022, which shows retrogression in EB-2 ROW and India, steady advancement in EB-3 China and EB-3 India, and no advancement in EB-2 China and family-based categories. The cutoff dates for issuance of employment-based immigrant visas are as follows:

  • EB-1: All countries are current.

  • EB-2: China remains at June 8, 2019; India retrogressed to October 8, 2011. All other countries retrogressed to November 1, 2022.

  • EB-3 Professional and Skilled Workers: China advances to August 1, 2018; India advances to June 15, 2012. All other countries are current.

USCIS will accept all family-based and employment-based adjustment of status applications based on the “Dates for Filing” chart.
